What I’ve Been Doing Instead of Blogging

AKA: Confirmation I’m A Nerd…

There was recently a pregnancy explosion at work. We are only a 30 or so person department, and we have three pregnancies and one newborn – not to mention a ton of diabetics or diabetic families (but that is another story).

My mom’s side of the family is pretty crafty. I was taught to cross stitch when I was pretty young and is just about the only craftiness I can do. Seriously, it is just making Xs and following a pattern.

Two of the pregnancies are closer to me than the others so I am making cross stitch birth announcements that go with the themes of their rooms. One of the babies is due in November and the other in early December – so I am working my little fingers off.

Aren’t these patterns super cute?

I love the one with the panda bear! When my daughter & her husband start having kids, I’ll have to remember to look for that one. She loves pandas too!

I used to do cross stitch a long time ago. Maybe I’ll pick that up again…

Yes. It is really a lot of fun and a pretty easy craft – as crafts go. When I am older – not so sure – my mom already complains that it is hard on her eyes.

I cross-stitched a crib quilt for my neice, but by the time I finished she was almost one. I have stuck to birth records since then! 😀

Those are wonderful. That’s an amazing gift to give anyone. And I love the bright colors.
