When I was little, I did not know exactly what I wanted to do but I knew that I my personality would not fit with a traditional 9-5 job. While there are certain aspects of my job that have me tied to the computer, there are other very random activities that I enjoy and sometimes plan.
These have included playing capture the flag over a few city blocks, snorkeling off the Florida coast, sliding down a banana split slip-n-slide, and this weekend taking pictures for a Battle of the Bands competition.
My dad worked for a photography company when I was little so I grew up around a lot of film and a lot of cameras. There is a ‘family story’ about how at my first birthday when they put me in the center of the crowd and I posed for every camera before opening any gifts.
Needless to say, I love film. Now that I have a digital SLR there is no stopping the number of pictures I can take. For example, Sunday night I took 810 pictures in just a few hours. Now, I deleted 590 of them when I got home, but that still leaves quite a collection of pictures. I can’t post most of them here for privacy’s sake, but here are two of a MUCH larger collection.
I did everything I could to avoid being low during the show – because frankly I didn’t have time for it. Backfired a bit and I was stuck in the 200s most of the night – even thought I had a bad set. No such luck, and I had a ‘nice’ low just about the time I got home.
