What do you think of when you hear the word ‘challenge‘? The first thing I think of is this:


The second thing I will think of from now on is the Diabetes Daily Challenge. Never one to shy away from competition, I was excited to hear about the lastest activity on the Diabetes Daily forum. David has invited us all to make take up a Diabetes Daily Challenge.

In August, the basic challenge is to “put on your workout clothes at least four days a week and move for 10 minutes or more. Don’t skip more than one day in a row.” People are definitely putting their own spin on the challenge and some have taken up food challenges instead.

Instead of the 10 minutes, I am challenging myself to work out for 30 minutes at least 4 days a week. I am hoping to also lose 4 lbs by the end of the month, but that’s not officially part of the deal!

Saturday I did 30 minutes on the Wii Fit. On Sunday, I decided to take advantage of the beautiful (but HOT!) weather and take a walk down to the ocean. It is about a mile and a quarter each way. After a detour through some beautiful local gardens, I was gone for about 45 minutes. If only all exercise could be this beautiful!


DD Challenge - August 2nd
