Moments of Wonderful

Moments of Wonderful - …rather than a lifetime of nothing special. A diabetes blog.

I am not…

If you don’t know what D word I am talking about, I can’t tell you today. But you can check out this link.

I am writing this post really late at night on Wednesday because I think the idea is so valuable to our community, but as a result I am not sure that I will make any sense. Chronic lack of sleep will do that to a person.

As I thought about what to write, one song kept popping into my head.

(Cara says she has an eclectic music taste, but I think I could give her a run for her money!)

The message of that song is SO HUGE, but, in part, I think it is a great reminder that we are all SO MUCH MORE than one thing that may or may not define us in the eyes of ourselves, our friends, or our family.

So what else can I tell you? I don’t feel like I need to use this spot today to tell you about my other interests and passions – that isn’t what this is about for me. It’s about building authentic community with each other – knowing that we care about each other, even when it isn’t about ‘the big D’. Although I will tell you, I love God, country music, taking pictures, and my cats. 🙂

DD Challenge - August 2nd

I know that for most of the people reading this, we have a ‘really big thing’ in common – but there is more, so much more, to all of us.

So (without using the D word) what makes you, you?

    Great post Sara!

What makes me, me is….hmmm, my humor I guess. Maybe just my ability to listen, talk, type, read all at the same time? No? Too distracting? Ok.

Thanks for sharing. Happy Non D Day!!

What makes me is me. I am what I am. Sometimes I am an upfront in your face kind of person, and yet I can find compassion deep in my soul for people. I have a soft side alot of people don’t see. I love the outdoors, my dog and my family.

I am defined by my kids and wife more than anything or any disease that is for sure.

I loved your post today. So important we are all so much more then what we find to be our common thread. There are many threads that make the beautiful tapestry that is the OC.

I am glad to be a part of it and to be your friend.

    A loyal friend…A loving mama…A learning wife…

Hard-headed, stubborn & the reason my dad says I gave him gray hair…

persistent yet at times feel I could cave into it all…in motion…outspoken…compassionate…entrepreneur…researcher to the core…science geek…lover of life

    GREAT POST!

What makes me, me?? That’s a tough one!

I’m not really sure, but part of what makes me Kelly K is my humor, wit passion, and my fondness for the color green. My love of manatees; cupcakes, children, and the ocean- but not necessarily in that order. I’ve been told by my friends that I’m extremely loyal and empathetic.

Every single day I’m learning who I am.

Great post and you always have wonderful photos!

Hmmm, me – I think my enjoyment of learning. I’m not too picky, just like to study and learn about almost anything. No tests, though, please!

Love your post! I guess what makes me, me would be my love of my daughter, husband, food, gorgeous handbags, yoga, and obviously my family. I’m very close with my family.

Okay, I had to think overnight how to respond. I am defined by my family (mother, girlfriend, daughter, sister), my love for my friends and family, my commitment to the things that I am dedicated to. My Cat! My devotion to my church. My home. And the fact that I love to cook wonderful meals for my family.
