April showers? May flowers?

Ignoring the poem’s monthly designations, I drove across the state of Florida this weekend to attend the bridal shower of a friend. Florida’s pretty skinny so driving across the state is not as bad as it sounds – only about 2 1/2 hours. I will say that it has to be one of the most boring drives in the whole United States.

Unless you like looking at sugar cane, that is.

The decorations for the shower were fun, and hinted at the beautiful blue color that will be used in the wedding.

If I thought the decorations were good, the food looked even better. Can you believe those strawberries?

It looks like the couple will be set up pretty well in their new home.
more presents!so many presents

The only question is whether or not there is still any tissue paper at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

The ribbon bouquet is ready for the rehearsal dinner. Doesn’t it look good?

I drove back across the state on Sunday with some of the shower gifts packed into my car. The couple’s apartment (where her fiance lives now – Hi Matt!) is just down the street from mine, and she figured he might want the (among other items) toaster and water filter.

The wedding is in just a little over a month. Stay tuned for pictures from the next drive across the state and pray for no April July showers!

I didn’t actually have one so I just asked the bride-to-be. They were called inside out strawberry shortcake. Our best guess is a mix of whipped cream and some sort of cheesecake.
