Moments of Wonderful

Moments of Wonderful - …rather than a lifetime of nothing special. A diabetes blog.

Every hour

It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do for today’s post. The prompt was a little shorter than the others. The only directions were “to snap a few d-related pictures and share them. Post as many or as few as you’d like. Be creative! Feel free to blog your thoughts on or explanations of your pictures. Or leave out the written words and let the pictures speak for themselves.”

I completed the d365 project years ago with the first group that attempted it. I love taking pictures and between my phone, my iPod Touch, and my actual camera, I probably take a few each day. What could I do for today’s post that would be something new and different?

Well, since diabetes doesn’t take a break, I figured that my photography shouldn’t take a break today either. Starting at midnight, I took a picture every hour as close as I could get to on the hour. Not the best night of sleep I’ve ever had.

In case you were interested, I did put together a short video of the pictures from my d365 project when I completed it in 2008. The pictures move pretty quickly – but they have to since there are over 300 of them!

You know, I struggled with this one (and finally gave up) because I have trouble finding things in my life that are not part of D… How do I decide?

That’s why I took the easy way out on this one (other than the time commitment). I just kept my camera near me, and took a picture of whatever was near me at the time!

Yep, I struggled too and didn’t know what kind of story to “tell” with the photos… ended up just doing a few recent random ones. Worked out well. And Sara, love yours – particularly the fun face one there! Gotta love having a camera nearby, to capture whatever the moment or mood may be.

I love how everybody is doing something creative today. I think your CGM says it all. Life on insulin is never perfect, but you seem to be doing a wonderful job!

Hi Sara – Thanks for your comments on my blog! Love your photos and the 24 hour idea was really fun. Can’t believe you got up every hour – that is commitment!
