Moments of Wonderful - …rather than a lifetime of nothing special. A diabetes blog.

From bricks and paint to beds and HOME

The last time I was in Haiti (in March), there were two main tasks that filled our week. Through the organization’s blog, there are some exciting updates on both projects.

First, each morning we helped move concrete blocks up to the roof for the construction of the second floor of the guest house for visiting teams.

This is how it looked when we were there.

And now, the building has been completed and teams have started to stay in the rooms. This has doubled the space that they have for guests, which is such an exciting opportunity for their ministry.

The second big project we were working on was painting the houses that had been completed for their MOH 500 project.

They are building a community of homes for Haitian families in need, many of whom lost their homes in the earthquake. Last week, the first 103 families moved into their new homes. It is an honor to think that the small contributions of my team has made it possible for these families to move into their new homes with yards, gardens, and the opportunity for a better life.

Now as Irene makes it through the Caribbean, please keep my friends in your thoughts and prayers.
