ID finishing touches

Way back in December 2007 I asked for a somewhat unique Christmas present. All I wanted was a cute medical ID bracelet (so that I would be motivated to actually wear it). I think I succeeded. Look how bright and shiny it was.

Was.

After three and a half years, it has seen better days. The bracelet has held up extremely well to 24/7 wear and tear. The chain is still intact and all the clasps are as good as new. The only sign of wear is all the scratches I managed to build up on the tag.

When I was in New York this summer, my uncle offered to give the bracelet a bit of a makeover. He couldn’t get rid of the scratches, but he had another idea.

what is going on here? Here was the first step. Any ideas what is happening?

Comic Sans

and

Papyrus

were the first ones eliminated.

tracing the designThen we traced out the design to make sure everything was lined up.

almost finishedHe went over the design a few times to give it depth.
