Faith Friday – Out of your mouth

My brother and I are less than two years apart. There was a time, when we were both in our early teens, that seemed to be one long continuous argument. Any time that we spoke rudely to each other my mom would either quote or ask us to quote one specific passage. A passage that, as a result, I can recite almost word-for-word today (I think that may have been her goal – sigh).

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen…

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
~ Ephesians 4:29, 31-32

On a completely unrelated note, just in case you were curious what a 20 day old sensor looks like.

Bennet, Meredith, Chris and I came up with a term on Twitter today for the 21 day old sensor. I’m officially in pursuit of the illusive BLACKJACK! (not an FDA sanctioned event)
