Diabetes in the kitchen

You know you have diabetes when…

.
…you didn’t buy any of this candy before Halloween.
.

… you bought it at the local pharmacy the day after Halloween when it was 50% off.
.

… you picked up the candy while also picking up some more “typical” diabetes supplies (causing some suspicious glances from the cashier).
.

… you get a bowl out to put the candy in but don’t throw out the original wrapping right away.

.

And most of all –

You know you have diabetes when you leave yourself a little note on the fridge.

I feel really self conscious when I buy four bricks of juice boxes and a giant bag of Smarties. Without diabetes, I would NEVER put those in my cart!

hahaha I love it! i work in a grocery store and i stocked up on all sorts of “mini” choc. bars and tootsie rolls after halloween! i leave some out and put the rest in the freezer. they last forever cause none of my kids would look in the freezer for that sort of treat! LOL!

I’ve resorted to committing those numbers to memory in previous years. This year, we still haven’t had Halloween yet (thank you Sandy), so I have an ample supply of full-price candy, not the half-off stuff.

I like that magnet on your fridge. It’s a blue circle. It’s an M&M. I’m not sure if there’s a correlation, but it sure is tempting!

I love the note on the fridge! Mine usually look cryptic, something like ‘sw pot 3oz/20g’.
