Last month I got an email from another blogger with a suggestion for the Best of the ‘Betes Blogs project. She wanted a way to acknowledge the great comments that are being shared around the diabetes online community. I know that I have awesome people who share comments on almost every post, many of whom don’t have blogs of their own for me to comment back on.
I thought acknowledging these valuable comments was a great addition to the Best ‘Betes Blogs and that a perfect place to start it would be on the blog of the person who introduced the idea.
On November 4th, Probably Rachel is hosting the Best of the ‘Betes Blogs for the month of October.
In addition to your favorite posts in the typical categories, be sure to nominate your favorite comments. I’ve added a Best Blog Comments category to the nomination page. If you are nominating using Twitter direct message to @bestbetesblogs or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org you would format your submission like this:
Sara nominates Dr Banting (link to Dr. Bantings blog, twitter account, facebook profile, some way to link to the commenter) for the best blog commenting this month.
As Rachel states in her post, “the blog posts that get nominated each month are awesome, but so are the conversations that are generated in the comment sections by other people, even if they don’t blog. The idea of comment shout outs isn’t to drive traffic back to your own blog post, but to recognize each person who strengthens the conversation.”
Enjoy your trick-or-treat candy and have your nominations in by midnight on November 1st!
