The future is now.
No really, it is (as I post this 10 days into December but back date it for posterity)!
I snapped this picture at a Christmas tree lighting festival in the mountain village where my family spent the long Thanksgiving weekend.
As I look to the future, the rest of December and the beginning of 2014, I am excited to participate in diabetes advocacy projects both locally and online.
On a different note but also about the future, Thanksgiving was my first gluten free holiday. Our family packed seven people in a cozy one bedroom mountain cabin (with the kitchen size that implies) and we still managed to keep most of the meal safe for me. The only thing I couldn’t eat was the stuffing (duh!) and I always served my portions first just to take an extra step to avoid cross contamination. Tackling the my first gluten free holiday meal hurdle makes me feel confident about managing future holiday celebrations too.
